All About Me
and a little about my threads...

Hi There! Thanks for dropping in...
My name is Allison and I've been making "hippie threads" off and on for about thirteen years. I went on Grateful Dead tour in the late 80's happyallison (6K)when I was nineteen and decided my future was either going to involve panhandling or getting a trade. I grew up with a mom who was an awesome seamstress, so I naturally chose to pull out the needle and thread. I began by making padded pouches with hand embroidered designs and eventually made my way into the world of clothes. I was living in my trusty orange 1978 VW camper bus (Fluff), so all of the clothes I made were done with no electricity... that is, they were all hand sewn...Whew! I have since moved on up in the world (technologically, that is) and now I actually use a sewing machine and a serger. I construct each item using either my fabulous Pfaff sewing machine or my unbelievable Husqvarna-Viking Designer 1. And of course, all of the stress point seams on my products are twice or thrice stitched. I topstitch where neccessary, and to make sure linings stay in place. All seams are serged on my Bernina four thread serger, thus ensuring durability and neatness (no fraying!) I wash and dry all fabrics before I make an item, so you don't have to worry about something shrinking or bleeding when you wash it! All bodices and pockets are lined, usually with 100% natural unbleached muslin (although sometimes I use a coordinating calico instead). All of my products are made with 100% natural fibers... no weird synthetic materials here. I stand by my work, so if you have any problems that are due to the quality of my clothing, I will take care of it. Also, returns on unwashed, unworn clothes are fine, as long as you have emailed me and told me there is a problem. I want you to feel confident if you choose to buy your goods from me! (*Please note that returns are good for a "store" credit only*) For more info regarding returns, please check the ORDER page or email me.
MY BEAUTIFUL LIFE:

sunset3 (10K)My day-to-day life consists of loving on my wonderful husband, Samuel ~ my bluegrass sweetie ~ and being a mom (world's greatest job) to my precious sons, Eli Creek, who is 6, and Silas Canyon, who is a big boy of 3. Our home is truly blessed. We try to go to local festivals as often as we can, there are some great ones here in Florida, plus there are several other good ones in the South. I will say we have cut back on travelling since Silas was born, but he will grow fast (as they have a tendancy to do) and we will begin our travels again soon. We love living on the Gulf Coast. Our lives are pretty laid back on our little island. Samuel owns a one-man landscaping biz, so he is able to spend oodles of time at home with me and with the kids. I spend a good part of my day tending to our home, homeschooling both Eli and Silas, digging in the dirt and playing hide-and-seek, and all the other amazing things mamas get to do. Being a stay at home mom is such a wonderful experience. It's the only life for us. We spend lots of time on the beach looking at horseshoe crabs and watching the dolphins. We have lots of really cool birds to watch, too! As a family, we love our lives, we love each other, and we love Jesus! If you would like to read the best part of my story, click here.

God has blessed us richly.

And finally, if you are an old tour head and you just might be looking for Allison or Samuel (from Alabama) then please feel free to drop us a line... As it's been said, "All of my friends are scattered like the leaves of an old maple" and it would be great to find a few old buddies. While you are visiting, please sign my Guestbook and let me know what you think. It's always nice to know what the Hippie Kids are doing...

Thanks for dropping in.

God Bless and go barefoot!
